June 2025

Rolling into the summer season…

My little rose bush just finished its first round of spring blooms. I’m feeling a bit like the petals on the table above…I need a little break. May was as hectic as April, but I’m settling in for the summer and hope to find time to rest and recharge in the coming months. I have some fun projects I’m working on to improve my teaching this fall, and I am feeling the need to do a little home improvement project. These are the types of things that help me feel grounded and calm.

Book Updates: I had the opportunity to record another podcast in May that should be published in June. I’m also working with a company to find more opportunities to be on podcasts and discuss The Power in the Middle. I’ve also completed about three guest spots on a local radio show discussing mental health across the lifespan. I’m new to interacting with the media, but so far everyone has been gracious and welcoming. I’ll keep you posted with updates on upcoming book events (I should get on that!)

On a personal note: I am feeling a greater need to relax and play. My TBR pile is ready to go for the summer season, and I’ve read about four books in the last few weeks. I’ve also been looking at design magazines and Pinterest, contemplating a mini makeover of my closet. It won’t be extensive, probably a fresh coat of paint, some new shoe racks and updating storage, but it’s an opportunity to create something new, and that is certainly one of my play languages! How will you play this month?
